I know, i know…the letter D has taken about 3 weeks to accomplish. This is why i could never seriously home school my kids.
First, the weather was sooooooooo nice that i couldn’t bear sitting inside. Then, we all got sick, then i had to pack and prepare for our mini vacation.
So, this is a compilation of a few weeks, but we got it done!
D is for Doctor
I found this darling set at Dollar Tree! Its not a very sturdy set and i had to reassemble the stethoscope several times.
I set everything in a bin so he had easy access and i could explain what each thing was when he picked it up out of the box.
As i was telling him what each thing was for, he went right to work on one of his stuffed dinosaurs!
So stinkin cute! This really showed me how much he loved to play make-believe! He played with this set for about an hour. SCORE! I think im going to get him a nice doctors set for Christmas 🙂
D is for Dinosaur
Of course i had to do Dinosaurs! Dino’s are one of J’s most favorite play things! This was a very short one because i was so sick. He already knows a lot of the dinosaurs names, so we reviewed those while i laid on the couch. It was a really nice day so i was feeling super guilty keeping him cooped up inside.
I set up his little pop up tent outside and told him it was a cave.
I had planned on taking him to a nearby dinosaur museum. I guess we’ll just have to hold on to that one for a rainy day!
Here i was still sick. My printer is still a mess, so i couldn’t really plan all the things i wanted to for this letter. This was totally impromptu. I remembered seeing this a few times on pinterest and thought id give it a shot.
I had him sort by color and count how many of each color there were. Then i just let him free play. He gets so creative with these pom poms! He started to put them in the back of his dump truck, and line the up on his fire truck ladder.
Later, i remembered this fun and easy activity
He loved this too, but the masking tape i used did not hold up very well!

Lol! I love how excited he is about playing doctor with his dinosaur as his patient!
Kudos to you for doing that while you were sick.

Thank you! I’m sure you know how hard it is to find the motivation sometimes. Once you become a mom, its like you can muster up a little extra boost when you need it!
